Pallet Wood Coffee Table Details:

After getting a new apartment I decided to make my own coffee table using pallet wood since I really like the "rustic" style.  This project is the first thing that I had ever made out of wood and  I have to say that I am very happy with how it turned out!

Lets get started!

Items Needed:

  • Miter Saw
  • Drill and Impact Driver
  • Minwax Early American Stain
  • Kreg Jig
  • Screws
  • Pallet Wood

I cut the boards to length and laid out the pieces that would make the top

Create a frame out of 2"x2" wood to attach the top boards to, then cut the 4" x 4" legs to length and screw them into the frame using pocket holes

Make a second frame to go around the base of the legs and screw it down using pocket holes.  Add planks going across the frame to create a shelf.

Give the table a good sanding and apply your choice of stain.  Here I used a Dark Walnut stain

I decided that the stain was a bit too dark for my taste so I sanded it back down and applied a Minwax Early American stain and darkened the edges and used a Minwax Polyurethane to finish the coffee table.
